Tacx Real life videos Sicily

Tacx Real life videos Sicily

In June Jaap Wagenvoort gfe (GoPro filmmaker extraordinaire 🙂 ) and myself have been filming in Sicily for three (Tacx compatible) Real Life Videos. I’ve already posted the trailers, but now I can present you the finished videos!

Video 1: Sicily – Erice
This RLV brings you to the archeologic park of Segesta, to the Garibaldi monument (Pianto Romano) and through a hilly landscape to the town of Valderice where the climb towards the Medieval town of Erice  (750 meters above sea level) starts. The Erice RLV includes 4 serious climbs totaling over 1.500m vertical ascent, but the maximum grade is ‘just’ 9%, so very trainer-friendly! Erice guarantees at least 2,5h of pure indoor training fun and you get to learn the beauty of Sicily along the way!

Video 2: Sicily – Bosco d’Alcamo
This Bosco d’Alcamo RLV is 18,6km long. It includes a nice warm-up in the valley near the town of Alcamo, a tough climb towards the Bosco d’Alcamo and a nice cooling down. All in all a good work out! The Bosco d’Alcamo climb itself is 6,3km with 450m vertical ascent. The average slope of the climb is a doable, but still tough 7.1%. Enjoy scenic views of the gulf coast after cresting the top (739m above sea level).

Video 3: Sicily – Don Bici
Ride with me in sunny Sicily! You can follow me on my Ridley Helium SL in the first (and easy) part of this 70 km training video where I’ll take you from the coastal town of Balestrate throught the town of Trappeto in the direction of the town of Terrasini. Expect a nice hilly road with great sea views. After this warming up you take over and ride towards the town of Carini where you’ll start the Carini climb. I’ll join you on the climb and you can follow me on the descent towards the town of Partinico. Then it’s time for the challenging final climb, which will take you up all the way to the radio antenna at the top of ‘Via Romitello’, 1.000 vertical meters ascent, the final 3 km averaging > 10%! It will be hard, but the scenery will certainly make up for it! Total meters of ascent: 1600

So if you’ve had enough of cold and windy rides in the rain and snow, why not get on the turbo and go cycling in sunny Sicily!

Buon divertimento!
