Pursu – an interview with the founder

Pursu – an interview with the founder

In March of this year Pursu launched their first three 100% natural energy bars. I met the founder of Pursu, Sanjay Soni, a few years ago when he and his brother booked a guided bike ride in Sicily. We kept in contact and after about a year he told me about this new project he was working on: creating a natural sports nutrition brand. This was in May 2017. From that point on I followed almost every step he took to reach his goal and wasn’t afraid to give him my two cents along the way… 🙂 Now we’re in 2019 and the brand has been created and the first three energy bars are already a great success! Because I followed Sanjay’s project from the start and the fact that I find the Pursu bars to be both delicious and easily digestible, I’m very happy to have become an official Pursu ambassador! I wanted to help introduce Pursu to you guys, so last week I interviewed Sanjay and asked...

Tacx Real life videos Sicily

Tacx Real life videos Sicily

In June Jaap Wagenvoort gfe (GoPro filmmaker extraordinaire 🙂 ) and myself have been filming in Sicily for three (Tacx compatible) Real Life Videos. I’ve already posted the trailers, but now I can present you the finished videos! Video 1: Sicily – Erice This RLV brings you to the archeologic park of Segesta, to the Garibaldi monument (Pianto Romano) and through a hilly landscape to the town of Valderice where the climb towards the Medieval town of Erice  (750 meters above sea level) starts. The Erice RLV includes 4 serious climbs totaling over 1.500m vertical ascent, but the maximum grade is ‘just’ 9%, so very trainer-friendly! Erice guarantees at least 2,5h of pure indoor training fun and you get to learn the beauty of Sicily along the way! The trailer: Order here Video 2: Sicily – Bosco d’Alcamo This Bosco d’Alcamo RLV is 18,6km long. It includes a nice warm-up in the valley near the town of Alcamo, a tough climb towards the Bosco d’Alcamo and a nice cooling down....

Working with a coach

Working with a coach

A few years ago I bought my first road bike and I was hooked from the start! For me cycling is an excellent stress reliever and it allows me to really enjoy this lovely island. I’m sure I’ll never get enough of the hilly landscape with olive groves and vineyards, the spectacular sea views and rocky mountains that surround the golf area. I used to just go out and ride my bike for as many kilometers as my work schedule would allow, so in a short time I rode thousands of kilometers in the area between Palermo and Trapani. While riding many kilometers initially made me a stronger cyclist, I noticed that after a while I didn’t see much improvement  anymore. That’s when I started to think about actually training instead of just cycling. A lot of coaches and cycling websites offer cycling plans to help you train, but I prefer being able to contact someone and to get feedback on the training data so I started looking for...
